M.B.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified EMDR therapist. My passion is supporting individuals as they move from the impact of life stressors and trauma toward relief and healing. I specialize in working with those who have experienced sexual violence and trauma, including individuals impacted vicariously through support or first responder roles. My professional experience includes serving as a child victim advocate, outreach coach, and social worker for survivors of sex trafficking in both residential and outpatient settings. Currently, I serve full-time as a clinical therapist.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults 18 and over who may be experiencing anxiety, self -esteem issues, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and ongoing stress. My specialization includes sexual trauma abuse/assault. I also work with first responders, those who may experience second hand trauma, and compassion fatigue. Persons may include but are not limited to: caregivers, family of abuse survivors, doctors, therapists, police, nurses, firefighters, victim advocates, and police.
How can you help me?
My approach to helping is to come along side you in your healing process. For me, therapy is a collaboration of bringing together skills and strengths to help you achieve your goals. I can help with support in identifying root causes for symptoms, skills to help increase your ability to have more autonomy over your nervous system, and identify your strengths. I also facilitate modalities that may help you process unresolved issues and connect to more adaptive information.
How will I know that I am making progress?
There are a few ways that progress can be assessed. At the beginning of the work we will do some assessment measures that will include your self-report of what is most distressing for you. From there we will work together to create treatment goals that have measurable outcomes. Throughout our time we will check in with these measures to see where your are in progress.
What types of therapy do you provide?
My training and modalities are used with a mix of evidence-based modalities to include: Mindfulness, IFS, somatic, and cognitive techniques. I use Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and are certified in the modality. I have training in specialized protocols for Acute and On Going Traumatic Stress. This integrated approach allows for tailoring treatment to best match your healing journey.
